As you can imagine, our day has been filled with questions, prayer and hard decisions. Caroline will still be flying out tomorrow, as planned.

 

This morning I spoke with the two leaders for this DTS. They said everything is normal where they are and they are not concerned about cancelling or delaying the program. They do have a lot of missionaries in Budapest who have left Ukraine and are waiting things out. They do not anticipate any NATO countries being attacked, at this time. The time spent in Romania will not be until May.

 

They sent out a letter to the team today. They acknowledged the concern and shared their precautions as well as the itinerary through June.

 

They suggest that Caroline register with the Smart Traveler program which lets the consulate know who is in country. This is their emergency protocol - they will help the DTSers with travel arrangements should they receive a notice to leave Europe. She is now signed up and will be notified as well as Jason and I.

 

We are good with this information and acknowledge the privilege it is for her to be an American and have priority to fly out if something goes wrong.

 

Despite our best efforts, we are not in control. We have no rights to a perfect or hoped for outcome but we do have the gift of faith, eternal protection and His love. He will receive glory, of this we are sure!
