When Elizabeth and I were first dating,
we were really excited about this new technology called a cell phone.
They were a great way to communicate at most every moment of the day,
and made us feel very independent and grown up.
However, we soon realized that having to pawn things,
like expensive guitars every month to pay the phone bill,
was not going to be possible over the long haul.
So we soon began to shorten our phone calls, and try our best to limit our time on the phone.
However, I have to admit I can be a bit intense at times,
and these shortened calls were just not enough to pledge my love to my future bride.
It became apparant that this new technology of being able to communicate, at a moments notice,
but also being mindful of our limited budget, made it necessary to come up with something really creative.....
and thus was born....

We changed our tactic and left the cell phone to rest awhile but went old-school and each had a pager.
Yes, you read this right. We had pagers for the sole purpose of staying connected
when we lived a long distance from each other.
Under each number on an old phone are the letters that add to the versatility of the phone.
In my creativity one day I created the above code to be able, at any moment, to send Elizabeth
a message that required no response, and just let her know how I felt about her.
4 = I 588 = LUV 8 = U
I know there are many ways in which I have shown and will continue to show my love for my bride,
but this one will always be our little code that will follow us always.
So, as you have seen, I enlisted the help of my awesome and talented brother in law to help me
create this code in a letterpress. Thanks Chris!
4-588-8 Elizabeth!
Happy 15th Valentine's Day
Yours
