Back to School Dance

Our parenting style tends to err on the conservative side and not rush into things.
Typically we hold back, giving our kids a bit more time to be little and
slow down on growing up, if we can help it.

There is a time for everything and, for our family, it works best to go slow.

So, Caroline went to her first Back to School dance this week.

(I realize for some this sounds so very early, and it does to us too.  Our school offers dances starting in Kindergarten...which we have decided to hold off until now.  And we might not go next time...just take it as it comes.  But it was a fun time for her.  They have been practicing a lot of the group dances in PE together so it was a bunch of fun group time.  She loved every minute and Jason & I were both there on the sidelines enjoying her joy.)

She has asked to go each year and we've decided to wait until she was a bit older.
She was estactic and so excited to get dressed up and have fun with her friends.

Our little entertainer decided to go visit Mel while we were taking pictures.

Hi Mel!

Caroline couldn't help but giggle at Mary Anna below.

Mel - come back here now!

Pure sweetness!

  2. What??? Dances for Caroline's age now? What age do the dances start? I thought they were more of a teenager thing! What is this world coming to?
