Our new Playhouse / Clubhouse....depending on who you are talking to. :)
Jason & I have been on the hunt for a playhouse to add to our backyard fun for the kids. Our search was a little disheartening as everything we found was SO expensive. Good ole Craigslist produced a family who was selling their playhouse that had been a part of their family for 10 years. They had taken great care of the little house and it looked brand-new...and thankfully, they had not presearched Craigslist to find out they could get aLOT more than they were asking. :)
Jason, being the Daddy he is, was bound and determined to get this little (8x10) playhouse into our bottom-of-the-hill backyard and set out to make it happen.
Yesterday afternoon we surprised the kids with their early joint birthday present. Jason rounded up about 9 guys from his school to come and help out and help out they DID! It took a lot of strained backs and disgruntled men to make this happen but it is worth it! Our kids will enjoy this for years to come and, I admit, we are dreaming of our sweet grandchildren enjoying it one day.

I love this progression as Caroline sees the playhouse, through the trees, before the others do. It is so precious seeing her excitement and then trying to help the other kids understand.
My mom hobbled over from her house (knee replacement a few weeks ago) and enjoyed watching the fun along with my dad when he came home from school.
The kids patiently waiting to be allowed to go inside.
I love this sweet picture.
I adore all the pictures we get of all three on this swing set.
Our backyard is slowly becoming the haven-away-from-the-world we want it to be for our family and it brings such joy to Jason and I to see our family enjoy it together.
My brothers will love this...and my husband is man-enough to handle the pictures of his truck being rescued by my dad's 4-wheel-drive truck. My dad was loving it! :)
Ahhh, it is safely home. I have been sick for a couple days with strep and a sinus infection so this project was not on my list of want-to-dos today but we knew rain was coming the next afternoon and there was no option unless we wanted to have a mudslide and ruin the yard or hurt someone in the process. So I enjoyed standing back and taking pictures but I was worn out and so glad when it was all over!
Love it - can't wait for the day we get to see it in person ... hoping to visit next year sometime!!!
ReplyDeleteOh what precious pictures and Aunt Donna has not been able to hold back the tears as I watched the progression of the playhouse being moved into place and seeing the excitement of my beautiful loving little nieces and nephew!! I am so happy for you all. It all means so much more to me since I was there last week and experienced those beautiful children and their mommy and daddy!!
ReplyDeleteThese are such great pictures! And such a great moment! I love the one with Mary Anna and Doster...so stinking sweet. Reminds me of me and my brother. Love!
