Grateful

Lately I haven't seen much of the man o' my dreams.  I find myself constantly looking at the clock trying to figure out exactly how much time until he will be home.  Not because he will help with the kids or give that last final threatened discipline or go clean up Simon's poop, but because I am just simply not whole without him around.  Jason balances two jobs at the same time as his full time job...making the way and a future for his family.  Evenings and weekends become the time for Jason to excel even further in his entrepreneurial and leadership skills in ways that give me chills and make me want to know him more, watch him more and learn from him more.

We've been exhausted lately....more from our late nights than from the amount of busyness or work we have around us.  We find ourselves (and we've had this problem for 12 years) not able to go to bed at night because it will mean our time together is done....  It is just how the Lord created the two of us...we feed each other's hearts in ways no one else is able and we give each other the umph needed to make it through the next day.

I've often thought that this is just what the Lord wanted for couples to experience in marriage...the NEED to be with and around one another.  As if they truly fit together and don't work quite as well apart.  Don't get me wrong...we often find ourselves in the middle of the most frustrating disagreements that would be easier to just walk away from or we find ourselves completely annoyed at the little things the other does.

But despite these little big trip-ups in our relationship, at the core of it all there is an insatiable need to be near one another, to be in relationship together, to just know we are within the same bubble we try to create around our home for this family we've been given.

Sweetie, I love the way you hold me and heres to the summer that will bring us more hours together...

What a fun song my mom just sent to her kids while I was typing this blog.
