Puppy Searching
After our sweet Denver died a few weeks ago we knew that we would be getting a puppy soon...but didn't know when or how. We're a dog kind of family and we thought, at first, that we would rescue a lab who was around a year old. But we decided that we really wanted the kids to experience having a puppy...its their only time, as children, to get to know a puppy and love one from the beginning. While we know this means a LOT of extra work for Jason & I, we really wanted to give them this experience. Plus, there will be lots of lessons on how to care for a dog and giving responsibilities to Caroline & Doster in this journey.
So the goal was to wait until Jason got a few extra side jobs so we could get our new puppy. Good ole Jason conquered that challenge in the first week and then we set out trying to find one, that wasn't crazy expensive. This past week, we did just that, and made an appointment to go meet 3 chocolate labs and choose which one we wanted when they were old enough to leave their mommy.
We left at 6:45 this morning and drove to go meet these little guys and had a fun time choosing which one we wanted as part of our family.
On the way home we tried to think of a name but couldn't come up with anything. Denver was named after Denver, Colorado because, when Jason & I were dating, we knew we wanted to honeymoon in Colorado. So we thought it would be neat to name our puppy after a place that means something special to our family. Jason's parents have a condo in St. Simons that we have enjoyed for over 8 years now. So it only seems appropriate to introduce you to.......
