What a week!

For a blogger, such as myself, who hasn't had time to blog it is an obvious opportunity to make some time to sit down and write out the special things that have happened in our family in the last few days.

Our week started off with planning Caroline's baptism this Sunday.  It is going to be a very special time for Jason & Caroline as he is going to be assisting our Pastor as Caroline is baptized.  Afterwards we are going to have a little brunch here at our house honoring this special occasion as we recognize that Caroline's heart shines for her Father and she has accepted Him as her Savior and shares this news with everyone!

Caroline asked Jesus into her heart a few years ago but has been a little shy about being in front of everyone to be baptized.  She will be stretched tomorrow as she is a bit nervous still but her sweet spirit is sure to Shine brightly!

Which brings us to Doster's big week!  On Wednesday evening he was asking several questions which led us to discuss how to ask Jesus in your heart.  He has heard it several times and, as we always do, we told him to let us know if he ever wants to make that decision.  With tears in his eyes and emotion in his voice he said he wanted to ask Jesus in his heart right now.

We reviewed and asked questions and had a precious talk with Doster.  His heart was so tender as he asked questions and processed his heart's desire.  In typical Doster fashion, his thoughts were bouncing all over the place and we got such a kick out of his mental processing.  After he finished praying and asked Jesus to come into his heart he looked at me and said "Mommy, now I want to pray and ask God to come in too so he can be in there with Jesus."

He was so excited and proud of himself.  The three days prior he had struggled at preschool with getting in trouble and having his name switched to yellow.  Typically we deal with this in short spurts every couple weeks but this week had been rough and he was on yellow three days in a row.  Before he left for preschool the next morning we talked about how God could help him make good decisions and all Doster had to do was ask Him.  He nodded his head and was ready for the challenge.

When I picked him up his teacher came to me and said that he had a great day and said "it was like he was completely different".  Praise the Lord!  I knew just what she experienced!

It was such a great example for Doster to see a successful day at school, the very next day, and to tangibly experience the difference in his heart.  When he got in the car he told me that "Jesus helped me make good decisions all day long!"

Last night as he wrestled on his bed he said that he was sure Jesus was "all shook up in there" as he rolled around.  It is so precious to see his little mind work in such a real way and truly imagine Him right there in his heart.

Then we move on to today!!  We decided to take Doster up to the neighboring ballfield parking lot to work on his bike riding.  Mommy came armed with camera and video camera and barely got the camera open when Doster was off and going on the first try.  Just like that!  It was so fun and exciting to see him gliding around the parking lot with such triumph.

No shame in using one Princess tire and one dirt bike tire when you get a flat.

All decked out in his bike gear that he received for his birthday from Papa & Minnie.

Words of affirmation are his thing and his little dimpled grin was adorable as we all cheered him on.  When we arrived home he ran to tell his neighbor friend that he learned to ride his bike and his excitement was barely contained as he told him all about his fun afternoon.  His next words warmed my heart as he was just as excited to tell his friend that "my whole family is going to be in the living room all night together AS A FAMILY!"  My sweet boy.

Jason and I are on a bit of overload as we process through this momentousness week.  Mary Anna is saying lots of words and being Mommy's helper in the kitchen, Caroline's baptism and Doster's exciting week.  Our little family has grown so much this week and we are so thankful.
