Intention
This year has been a beautiful year of watching our children grow and become more of who they are...alongside their parents who seem to be continually in that process also. Our biggest praise of 2010 would be Doster's decision to receive Christ and Caroline's decision to tell everyone, through baptism, that she loves her Father. Wow, what a special year in the life of our family!
We learned much this year about holding on for dear life and waiting for the Lord's plan to unfold. My business took us for a whirlwind of a ride through role reversals, many many hours of work, exciting challenges, a complete thrill ride for me to watch this budding business unfold, and complete thankfulness for the income the Lord provided through Simply Edits.
We watched Jason grow more in patience as he awaits the position that truly challenges him and brings him satisfaction in his days. We'll grow more in that virtue this year as we're still waiting on the Lord's plan to unfold.
We challenged Doster and proudly watched him mature and conquer different milestones set before him this year. His tender and sweet heart melted ours' on many occasions and his quick witty humor kept us chuckling amidst the challenges set before us. He has excelled in preschool, after holding him back a year, and we are thankful for this decision as he is doing a great job maturing through one more year before becoming a kindergartner. He loves his preschool and is proud to tell all the words he can read and the spanish words he can recite. It is so fun watching his love for learning and his tender sweet ways with his family.
We have relished each sweet moment with Mary Anna as she has traveled out of babyhood into toddlerhood and made her mark in this family of five. As much as mommy has struggled to watch the thumb sucking fade away and the independece take over, it is good to see her stand up and create her own position as the youngest of our flowers. We started 2010 with tubes in her ears and ended 2010 with a hospital stay for a staph infection....and she has been such a trooper through it all. Her sweet grin, big brown eyes and curls make for quite a sweet combination and watching her play and love her Bubby and Sissy is so touching for Jason & I.
We have loved deeper, learned more, matured more as parents, rejoiced in a few triumphs, laid down a little pride, celebrated the little and the big things, walked through a bit of humility, made some meaningful relationships, renewed a few others, made some tough decisions, marveled at the gifts laid before us, walked through a few mistakes, realized we have what it takes and at the end we've seen a year of intention. A year of making decisions for this family that haven't always been easy, some that have set us apart, but all have been made with deep intersession and faith in our Father....which seems to be what its all about in the end anyways. :)
As our next year approaches, Jason and I are sitting down to make a few more of those intentional decisions. To write down a plan filled with a few yes's, a few no's, some we'll see's and a lot of faith in the Lord to guide us through another year in the journey we're in...which is like no other.

We marveled at Caroline's ability to adjust to 3rd grade after skipping 2nd. We were amazed at the complete transformation in her as she was challenged and seemed to find her nitch in her daily world of learning. Her thirst for knowledge is fun and refreshing and her sweet personality balances to create such uniqueness. Watching her grow in ability and desire during her horse lessons makes the sacrifice well worth it. We love this passion of hers and enjoy watching it grow.
