Caroline's Honors Day
This morning was Caroline's Honors Morning and she did great. I had both kids with me so Mary Anna at a banana, cereal bar, pack of pb crackers, goldfish, cheerios, milk, water, raisin cookie, and a blueberry mini muffin. YES, I was blown away and it was really the only way to stay the entire morning for Caroline. She was tired from the weekend and it was morning nap time so she was so antsy and fussy. I didn't feed her breakfast before we went so that she would be hungry and food would satisfy her. It kept her quiet but now she will not eat any lunch to even things out a bit. She must be ready for a growth spurt because she is packing food into that little body right now.
Caroline received the Principal Honor Roll and the Character Award for Compassion. It was a sweet morning followed by personal awards from Mrs. Weaver in her class (what they will be when they grow up award). She spoke a bit about each child, not without tears, and when she said "and we have one student who LOVES horses..." all the kids started pointing at Caroline. Caroline got the "Rodeo Star" award.
It was a very sweet morning and there was a beautiful breakfast laid out for the parents and the kids made the plates for us. As you can see, Caroline chose her favorites for us. I laughed so hard when I saw her plate.
Doster did well and when a specific boy went across the stage he whispered to me "that is the little boy who traded silly bandz in his desk and Mrs. Weaver cut his in half in front of the whole class". He is so intune to Caroline and the things important to her. In the classroom he looked at her and said "Caroline, is it okay for me to be wearing my Silly Bandz in this classroom?" with such concern on his face. Making sure he follows her classroom rules.
Caroline told me before I left that Mrs. Weaver had it right that she does love horses but what she loves more is books about horses. :) I left her reading a new book that Grandma and Grandpa got her amidst the crazy party still going on around her. I love her specialness and wouldn't change it for the world!
