Caroline's 7th Birthday

Each birthday brings a bit of sadness and emotion for me as I am seeing my children grow up so quickly and these years slipping away. She looks so old in this picture! Was she really in my tummy a few short years ago?

We started the day with Caroline's favorite breakfast - cinnamon rolls!

Caroline's birthday request this year was a trip to the American Girl store with her friend Libby. They wanted to get their doll's hair done so we headed that way for a special morning. It was quite an experience for all of us as these dolls are very pampered on. We then had fun at the Bistro with a float for the girls and a special Happy Birthday song for Caroline.

That evening we enjoyed a family birthday party at Gondaliers in Cartersville - where I had my 11th birthday party when I was younger. FYI - my family was even in a Gondalier's commercial years ago - our weak claim to fame!

Since Caroline had her ears pierced recently it was finally time to give her this jewelry box. I had found it years ago, when she was just a baby, and have been saving it for the day when she would appreciate and love it. The little ballerina inside twirls as the music box plays...so sweet.

Books are always a hit - even if Mommy found them at Goodwill for 35cents! :)

The theme was definitely her American Girl doll as she is opening a horse for Laura, from Grandpa and Grandma, Papa and Minnie attired Laura in a fine riding outfit with accessories, while Uncle Chris and Auntie made sure she was ready for school with a cute outfit.
