501 - WOW!
I just realized that my post this morning was my 500th post. Wow - that is quite a lot of sharing with you all - hope you've enjoyed it as much as I have!!
I've been asked -why do I blog? how do you have the time? how do you have anything to say?
My answer: Because one day my children will flip through these pages of their lives and they will treasure each moment. They will giggle over the funny stories with their high school boyfriend or girlfriend, they will look back on it with fond memories as college students and when they reach parenthood they will treasure the knowledge that "we lived it too" and made it through. From my perspective now, as a parent, I know that they will treasure the knowledge that we struggled, we didn't do it all right, we did some things right, we wanted to pull our hair out at times and at others we loved so much it hurt...and through it all they will read that we were real and we cherish each and every moment of their lives.
I just got an email that seems so fitting after just realizing I've posted 50o times!
It was written by Beverly Campbell, a LONG time family friend of ours. Actually, my Mother and her became friends within the first few years we moved to Georgia in 1985.
What a sweet encouraging note from her...one that will be saved.
Thank you Beverly.
"Hi Elizabeth, I just wanted to take a minute to tell you how much I enjoy your blog. Today as I read it I was thinking... "The times of your life..." and it brought joy to my heart to know that you get it!! What a blessing a growing family is... with all the energy and noise, and laundry, and schedules. I'm glad you treasure it all, and thanks for sharing. It brings back many memories! I enjoy laughing at your exchanges with Doster when you share his unique take on things too. As well as Caroline's sweet spirit & Mary Anna's precious little cherry on top that you all enjoy so much. It just seemed that I am so connected to your entire family through your blog, and yet never comment. It's a neat communication, but can be one sided. I just am sending this note to say I love you, I enjoy your sharing, and I'm so happy to see you treasuring every day. What a precious tender hearted mommy you are! Blessings to the flower patch! :) Beverly"
