Thank you for calling Interval International Exchange Department!

WHEW!!

For the last 5 weeks I have been completely consumed with a class I've been taking. I found an opportunity for a job as a Customer Service Adviser, all from home. I will sit at my desk and take inbound calls (during nap time) for Interval International, a timeshare exchange company.

BUT, the trick to this new job was A LOT of work! I had to take a 5 week course that was five nights a week from 7-11 p.m. (virtual classroom with the computer, headphones and microphone). Yes, that is a total of 93 class hours and we estimated I spent about 30-40 hours on homework during those 5 weeks. Talk about INTENSE!

But if it meant a job and a paycheck then I was going to see it through and hopefully pass the certification so that I could work!

Last night was my certification, which lasted about 45 minutes one-on-one with a supervisor. I was fit to be tied the hour before I was to be tested. I have never been this nervous about something - well maybe when I had to stand up during my Speech classes in college - but even then, it wasn't nearly as nerve-wracking as this! This class was, by far, harder than any college course I ever took.

So, my certification began with my computer freezing and I was unable to log into the virtual classroom and meet the supervisor. To say the least, I was in tears. Finally I was able to connect and went through my testing and felt such relief last night to be done with this stress. It has been incredible...the amount of pressure and stress I've felt for this 5 weeks.

Well, today at 12:10 p.m. I found out that I PASSED and I now have a job!!!

Thank you Lord!

"For I know the plans I have for you...." Jeremiah 29:11

I can now join the real world again and I am so excited to be done with this class and spend my evenings with my husband again! I have missed him!

During these 5 weeks we had 2 cases of strep, 3 ear infections, bronchitis and the flu...all in our three kiddos. Today, I am proud to say, there are no medicine bottles sitting out, no thermometers being used, no throw-up bowls sitting around....its all done!! At least, for now...

Now I have a house to clean, clothes to put away, pictures to go through, blogging to be done, rest to be had, playing with my kids to be done, piles of things to go through on my desk, etc. etc. etc. Tons of things to do that have been completely on hold for 5 weeks. With all of this to do, I spent my day today decorating for fall, my ALL TIME favorite thing to do each year! :-)

  1. Hey! CONGRATS! I've been meaning to email and see how y'all are doing. I knew you must be busy with something (and hopefully not just sickness) with the lack of blogging. I am so so glad you have found a good money making opportunity. Way to go! I know that will ease the money stresses. When do you start? immediately I guess? I'm glad everyone is better, too. Jasper is in mother's morning out for the first time so I'm trying to keep us all as healthy as possible!
