Poop and Gnats

Our drive to St. Simons went really well minus our mishap with Mary Anna's blow out!! I was on the phone when she started crying so I reached back to look for her pacifier. I reached down beside her hip and brought my hand out COVERED in yellow poop. We pulled over as soon as we could on the side of the road. Jason brought her around to me holding her by her ankles and her neck (I've heard several comments about this...he had his hand cupping her neck and his hand cupping her ankles carrying her sideways as if she was laying down...don't picture her hanging by her ankles). I started wiping off the thick nastiness while she was laying in my car seat while Jason tried to clean up her car seat.
The stuff multiplies...every time I wiped something it was all nasty again. It was everywhere.
I took off her outfit and had to lay it on the ground and had the biggest pile of wet wipes next to the van.
While we were cleaning all this up there was a massive cloud of gnats that took up residence in our van in the sticky muggy air.
Oh my goodness.

THEN it started POURING DOWN RAIN.

Jason and I were soaked. We got her cleaned up and in a new outfit, covered her with the changing pad so she wouldn't get wet and walked her around the van to her seat. Got all the clothes, car seat pads and wet wipes out of grass and got it all tied up in bags.

During all of this the Flowers are parked behind us in their car watching, through the rain and windshield wipers, and laughing hysterically. :)

We get back in the van and Doster's first words, before we're even buckled up, "Mommy - did you bring sunscreen for the beach?"

Then we start pulling away and the rain stops and literal sunbeams shine down into the front seat. AUGH

:) Memories!!
