What a day!

Today was our big day to get through before we can relax and wait to meet our little girl. It started early this morning with a baby shower with Jason's co-workers at the school. It was such a precious shower with so much yummy food, beautiful flowers, decorations and such neat support from those he works with. It was a diaper shower and the following picture shows what we were given. OH MY GOODNESS!!! The Volleyball girls brought in diapers too so we filled the back of the van with our goodies.

We counted and we have 1, 317 wipes and 1,147 diapers....is that amazing?
We are so thankful for the wonderful help!

Next we went down to Scottish Rite outpatient surgery to have Caroline's tonsils removed.

She did great! She had her moments of trepidation and fought it a bit when the gas mask was put on but overall did such a great job. The wait was hard as it gave her time to think but Daddy was really good at being the comedian and entertaining her with a puppet show and jokes....and it worked! She giggled and giggled. :)

In all of our kid's surgeries I've always been the one to walk to the operating room with them and hold them while they went to sleep. This time Jason felt it was just too much for me to do this close to delivery. I mentally fought it but I did know it was best. In the end, when he shared with me how it went I knew it was the best thing that I hadn't gone...but I still cried through his entire rendition. It is just so hard watching that done but yet, I wouldn't want them to go through it alone either. Thankfully, my man protected me on this one!

Another attempt of Daddy's to entertain Caroline and keep her mind occupied. She loved it!

The doctor said her tonsils were the size of golf balls - no wonder they harbored that strep virus! Waking up was hard at first but gradually got easier and then we stopped to get a Wendy's frosty on the way home. She was doing really well this afternoon but then the hospital medicine must have worn off because she really started slowing down. We've got her on her pain medicine now and will keep that up for the next 2 days around the clock to help her through the soreness.
She had a visit from Grandpa and Grandma tonight with a BIG tub of chocolate ice cream - - which was the enticement from the beginning...all the yummy foods she'd get to enjoy.

I'm actually experiencing a lot of contractions! I never had any with the other kids and never dilated at all with them but here I am, dilated to 3 and contracting every 15 minutes!! Our inducement date is still next Wednesday but we'll see what this little girl's plans are....
