Baby Shower

Last night our little girl and I were honored by Katie, my sister, and my Mother. The baby shower was held at Katie's loft in Atlanta and was such a splendid evening. When we arrived there was my favorite fruit slush (which I ate by the gallon during my 2 summer pregnancies), sweetened green tea and cucumber water. Everyone mingled until dinner time when Katie and Mother served us Rose's Mexican Pie (another favorite of mine), fruit, and cinnamon muffins. Then we had a fun time opening presents and oooh-ing and ahhh-ing over all the pretty pink little baby things. Cupcakes with sugar covered edible rose petals on top, seasoned walnuts, and homemade marshmallows ended the evening wonderfully.

It was such a special evening filled with wonderful memories, gifts and love. Katie gave me a box of notecards at the end of the evening that each guest had written to the baby giving their thoughts and love of our family, myself and her. It was so special.

Thank you to Katie and Mother for being such gracious hostesses and creating such a special atmosphere to celebrate this new little life entering our family.
