Cubbie Christmas

Caroline & Doster have been a part of the AWANAS program at our church this year and it has been so good for both of them. They have memorized verses, made great friends, loved on their teachers, and, this week, performed in the Christmas program. They both did a great job but Doster's performance stood out a bit as he stood out...literally. He was placed on the top row of the riser but seeing Sissy on the floor at the base of the stage and Daddy, Mommy, Grandpa & Grandma in the audience was just too much for our sweetheart as he kept walking up to the front of the stage to perform. We laughed so hard but it was also so adorable as he was truly just so excited for us to see his performance. I loved seeing the concentration on his face as he did the hand motions, rang the bell, and sang all the words. For my on-the-go little boy, these were wonderful things to watch. As we heard Caroline tell Doster the other day, "Focus Doster, focus!" we often have to remind him to stay on task. He did such a great job following through and doing as he had practiced for weeks. These pictures just don't capture it very well but they give you an idea.

Caroline did a great job also. She has performed before in front of people so we knew, somewhat, what to expect. She learned a very long song in just a few weeks and practiced it quite a bit at home - to the point of Doster actually learning a lot of it too. The other day, at school, she asked her teacher if she could sing it for the class and Mrs. Turner said they all really enjoyed listening to her song and were impressed with her pretty voice. :)

She is growing up so fast. Last night Jason and I talked about what grades all our children would be in relation to each other. When he started going up the ladder and was figuring out who would be at what school when she is a senior I told him I didn't want to talk about it anymore. :) I just don't even want to imagine my Sunshine growing up...but yet each age has been so fun, yet I don't want to let the last phase go for the next to come....hmmm can you hear my emotional waffeling?
