Barn Wood

Ben drove his truck and trailer to Waterloo as he had planned a trip this summer to go up and get some peg timbers that Grandpa had collected years ago from a barn he tore down. My mother remembers helping tear the barn down when she was 8 or 9. Ben is going to plane these 100+ year old heart pine timbers and use them in the home he is building for he and Anna in North Carolina. He also saved a couple beams for Jason and I to use when we finish off our basement. We are going to frame a large double doorway. Ben, Charlie and Daddy put a lot of work into salvaging and loading these timbers and found a treasure of wood.
