Mother's Day
I truly think the kids were more excited about today than I was as they couldn't wait to serve me on Mother's Day. As I am sitting in bed, catching up on reading a few blogs etc, they are out in the kitchen with Jason making my cinnamon role and strawberries breakfast. Caroline informed me early on that I was to stay in my room and "do anything you want" until they brought me my wonderful breakfast.
Yesterday I worked all day in Rome with my Mother, helping out with a wedding that, oh my goodness, wore me out. Every muscle in my body hurts this morning.
At one point, I called home to check on things and talked with each child.
Doster: "Mommy, we at Walmart, we buy you a Mover's Day present. It going to be real pretty. I uves you Mommy."
Caroline: "I miss you really bad Mommy, I don't like it when you are gone all day."
~a few moments pass~
My family just came in and brought me my Mother's Day present - a basket with gardening tools, gardening gloves, and a book about plants. My wish was to make a strawberry patch but after a visit to 4 different stores they realized that it is too late in the year to plant them. So, I have a coupon for this fall and I get to read up on the process before then. It was such a special time with the kids. Jason gave me a precious card and, on it, there was a heart and four little bubbles around it. Doster named each of the little bubbles for each of the four in our family and then pointed at the heart and said "that is all our heart". As they left the room to go get breakfast Doster closed the door and, from the other side, yelled "Mommy, I uves you....with all my heart!" Ahhhhh, a perfect morning!
Jason also gave me three roses, each symbolizing one of our children, the third being in heaven.
Now, I'm going to lay back down and snooze until my wonderful breakfast arrives.
Happy Mother's Day! I'm so glad you felt honored this morning. You deserve it!
