What a fun Christmas Day! We started off Monday evening going to the Christmas Eve service and spending time with the kids before hand, reading the Christmas story. Doster has a good grasp of who each person is in the Nativity so we were able to really talk with both of them about it.
Tuesday morning the kids came downstairs to see what Santa had left them and had so much fun with Caroline's LeapPad and Doster's tool bench. We had a nice time opening our family gifts and then we all loaded up to go over to my parent's.
Charlie, Maggie, Chris, Katie, Mother and Daddy were waiting to go through stockings and start our gift time. This has always been such a fun time for my family as we take a long time going around the circle enjoying each person's gifts.
We had breakfast during a break and then Chris, Katie and Mother made Chris' mom's famous lasagna recipe that she always made for her family on Christmas Day. This was a neat way to honor Chris' Italian heritage and mother.
Afterwards we set up Grandpa's train set, went through old doll clothes of Mother, Katie and mine and let Caroline dress up her dolly.
It was such a nice, relaxed day for us and we really missed Ben & Anna!!
